Pro Bono work is given equal consideration and value at ZEAL.

ZEAL works in close collaboration with the Government Sector both at national and international level. Mentorship programmes for law students

Through the Internship Programme at ZEAL, we provide guidance and practical experiences to the aspiring lawyers under our internship programme named ZEALOT. We propel budding lawyers to learn and grow in the legal field and build their persona in such a manner that they in return can nurture future lawyers in the community. We constantly endeavour to nurture and mentor the young minds right from the early stage when they’re beginning to build upon their passion for law. Transmitting skill and knowledge to the younger generation lawyers and passing on the knowledge we received from our professors & mentors through our journey is our way of paying respect to our seniors who contributed tremendously to our learning graph. We attempt towards making efficient utilization of our combined knowledge to train the young lawyers to constantly evolving business methods and legal challenges associated with the same.

Going the extra mile

We share regular and timely updates regarding change in policy and/or legislations and important case laws with the wider legal & non legal community through our social media profiles as well as through our annual newsletter IP Fervour. We also draft and share articles on relevant and recent topics not only to clients and colleagues in our network but also to the public at large by putting the same on multiple social media platforms. With all the above-mentioned foundational milestones in place, we are continuously striving to create our own footsteps for not just ZEAL’s prosperity in terms of achieving our goals but also for the overall development of the personality & skills of wider legal community.

India & IP

India & IP

India is a member of WTO and signatory to many IP treaties including TRIPs, Paris Convention and Berne Convention, Madrid Protocol, Patent Cooperation Treaty and signed WIPO Copyright Treaty (WCT) and WIPO Performances and Phonogram Treaty (WPPT). Indian Government’s commitment towards innovation and economy's growth can be viewed from the increasing digitization and streamlining of processes by the Indian Patent Office as well as awareness, commercialization and enforcement campaigns organized by CIPAM through India.

Start ups and IP

Intellectual Property rights (IPRs) play a significant role for startups and their growth and development. It is always advisable to strategize, secure and protect Intellectual Property at an early stage. With the launch of "Startup India" and "Make in India" and First National IPR Policy in the year 2016, the Government’s focus has been on encouraging innovation and creativity by protecting and promoting IP rights of start-ups. Government of India is also provides multiple benefits to start ups. Subsidized fees for filing trademark, patent and design application are examples of such incentives.

MSME and IP

It is essential that MSME understand the importance of IPRs and take measure for protecting their ideas, technology and business strategies. The important role IP plays in the MSME sector can also be gauged from the fact that GOI provides financial support on grant of patent (both domestic and international), trade marks and geographical indications.

New Technologies & IP

Technology is becoming increasingly reliable and indispensable day by day. In todays world, when future technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, IoT, 3D Printing etc are playing an important and challenging role in our day to day life, its important to understand the nexus between these technologies and Intellectual Property and how IP can assist these technologies and vice versa. It cannot be ignored that Future technologies may drive IP enforcement and technologies like AI can assist in inter alia evidence collection and time stamping.
